Hello I am Helen van Soest and I first discovered I was a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) in my thirties, when I read Dr. Elaine Aron’s famous book "The Highly Sensitive Person: How to Thrive When the World Overwhelms You".
I felt a great sense of relief in realising that being highly sensitive is a special gift and nothing to be ashamed of. I understood why I could cry so easily, become attached to people and feel hurt when they let me down.
This blog is about my experiences as a HSP. If you are a HSP or an introvert who is sensitive or simply just a sensitive being, I hope you find comfort and hope in my stories. I would also love to hear your stories and am happy to publish guest blogs on this website.
This website is also a celebration of sensitive people. Together we make this place a kinder, more caring and meaningful place.
